SPEECH/LANGUAGE THERAPY

An educational speech/language therapist is responsible for providing therapy services to students (age birth - 21) that demonstrate some type of difficulty successfully communicating within their classrooms.            

Examples of communication skills that therapists help students improve may include:

 

articulation ..... producing sounds accurately
stuttering ..... producing conversation fluently
language ..... understanding and using language
phonology ..... learning the rules of sound combinations
language-based learning ..... using language to learn educational material
pragmatics ..... using language for social purposes
